I am physicist at heart, but my interests spill over into other fields, including information theory, radar,  machine learning and neuroscience. I have been involved and led several ESA and EU projects on technology development in Earth observation (with a focus on gnss-r) and neuroscience applications (mostly related to the interaction of Maxwell's equations with the wet brain).

My main challenges are to prove that the science can be a business model, to give scientists back their important role in society and to convince the companies to invest in long-term research.

My main research field is the use of GNSS signals as a source of opportunity for remote sensing of planet Earth (PARIS concept). Particularly, I concentrate my effort in the development of novel algorithms for code and phase altimetry with GNSS-R signals.

Like many of us here I started out in Physics. Particularly astrophysics where I used to wonder about what was going on "out there" but then, like many of us here, I got to wondering about the wondering itself. So for the moment I'll be thinking about how we build and maintain the model of the universe in our head before getting back to the one on the outside.
