Barnamar, a new water quality monitoring service for Barcelona beach area
Starlab and the Barcelona City Council are offering this summer a satellite-based service to monitor the water quality of the city beachfront.
The service, called Barnamar, processes images of ENVISAT MERIS satellite to infer parameters such as the water transparency, suspended particles and algae concentration along the coast.This information will be made available to all citizens and visitors through the Barcelona City Council official website.
