INTOGENER highlighted in ESA's IAP website
INTOGENER (INTegration of EO data and GNSS-R signals for ENERgy applications) has been highlighted by the European Space Agency in their Integrated Applications Promotion (IAP) website.
INTOGENER is a study run by Starlab in close collaboration with ENDESA to improve water management in Chile, a country where more than 40 % of the national electricity mix comes from hydroelectricity power plants.
Due to the peculiarities of the Chilean area (dominated by the Andean mountains), space technologies can help providing information about the snow & ice coverage (SAR data), water flows and temperature (IR-Thermal data). In addition, Oceanpal, the remote dry system for water monitoring, can provide relevant information concerning water basins levels in strategic locations.
