Pascual Leone and Birbaumer first members of the Science with Impact Board

We are happy to announce that Dr. Alvaro Pascual Leone, a key figure in the area of non-invasive brain stimulation, and Dr. Niels Birbaumer, one of the pioneers in Brain Computer Interface research, have become the first members of Starlab's Science with Impact Board (SIAB).
The SIAB aims to sharpen Starlab's mission of transforming science into technologies with a profound positive impact on society and fits with its vision of making science more useful, alive, vibrant, faster. The Board, that will be made up of leading scientists in the Space and Neuroscience areas, will provide advice on research roadmaps, technologies and applications.
Alvaro Pascual-Leone is a Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, with which he has been affiliated since 1997. He is also the Director of the Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation and Program Director of the Harvard-Thorndike General Clinical Research Center at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. In addition, he is scientific counselor to the Institut Guttmann - Neurorehabilitation Hospital (Badalona, Spain).
Niels Birbaumer (member of the Bernstein Focus: Neurotechnology Freiburg-Tübingen) is Director of the Institute for Medical Psychology and Behavioral Neurobiology at the Medical Faculty of the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, where he also heads the Center for Magnetoencephalography (MEG).
