The Global Copernicus Land Service project includes the Burnt Area product maps, the burnt scars, and gives temporal information on the fire season. Currently based on PROBA-V, soon on Sentinel-3. Burnt Area is recognized as an Essential Climate Variable (ECV) by the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS)

Starlab's role: Development and validation of the Burnt Area Product at global scale, with 300m spatial and daily temporal resolution.
