JS-2012-01 - Research Engineer - (Starlab Consulting - Space Engineering Business Unit)
Starlab is a private company based in Barcelona, Spain, providing R&D solutions and services to a wide range of institutional and private customers (www.starlab.es). Several ESA, EU, national and private projects are currently being conducted within the Space Engineering Business Unit (Starlab Consulting Division), which aims at bridging the gap between research and society through the development of novel solutions.
The enthusiastic candidate we are looking for will act as researcher and technical project manager of several activities dedicated to the development of the R&D areas of the Space Engineering Business Unit, as well as, in perspective, to project management activities. He or she will be strongly involved at the bidding stage in the preparation of proposals in response to customer invitations to tender and requests for quotations.
The candidate must be a problem-killer and team player, able to work efficiently, proactively and with high-quality.

Key Requirements:
- MSc or PhD in either:
- Electronic Engineer
- Remote Sensing
- Aerospace
- Telecommunication
- Physics
- At least 4 years of relevant experience
- Very good experience in Software Development (C, Idl, Matlab, Python, shell-scripts)
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Additional Skills:
- Detailed knowledge of GNSS principles
- Detailed knowledge of satellite altimetry principles
- Detailed knowledge of SAR principles
- Experienced in proposal writing
- Good knowledge Spanish or Catalan
