The Wind Mapping Service is a tool developed by Starlab to support the management decision where to best invest in a wind farms on land.
The system includes parameters such as wind speed and direction, DEM, and surface roughness from models as well as in situ data such as the national electricity network. It can also provide statistical analysis on wind data for a period of time (e.g.:10 years) for any area.
The software integrates all this information on a Geo-Information System plaform (GIS) and its use is very intuitive: the user only needs to click on any point in the area of interest to access all the data associated, layer by layer or in combination.
